Dear Father, Holy Creator
Help us see the mysterious masterpieces
and beauty of all creation.
Replace fear and suspicion of persons I don't understand
with respect for the Artist of all.
With listening ears,
may I open my heart to sacred stories
praying stories open doors revealing light
illuminating strangers on the way to Christ-like friendship.
Sharing memories
reveals glimpses
why persons
who appear radically different
think
feel
act
believe
the ways they do.
Why long for deep connection with persons who make me uncomfortable?
The Jesus in me seeks the Jesus in you.
When I stop long enough to care about persons I can't figure out,
Making Whole
Presence
Invites me
to
Wonder.
We discover missing pieces.
Each new friend we make
multiplies like diamonds
infused with Son-light
sparkling across water
tainted by societal currents
of unexamined
dysfunction
categorization.
Tears once carried release.
Each new friend becomes a drop of healing turning water into wine.
